Hobby That Made Money
I got into website development as a hobby back in 2006. I was a hardcore gamer from elementary school all the way through high school. But that stopped when I entered university and the workforce at around 19-20 years old.
Chasing after money was more real and exciting than games, or so I thought at the time.
But I was always a natural with gadgets, tech and softwares.
Around 2007 (age 25), after I left my sister’s ministry and on a hiatus, I spent all of my time on 2 things: immersing myself in reading the bible and learning softwares.
I was particularly drawn to building websites without coding—a technology today known as “No-Code”.
I also began studying Google's search engine, curious about how websites could appear in search results. This led me to go deep into what’s called Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
Around 2008, while working at a bank selling investment products for Commonwealth Bank in Indonesia, I decided to differentiate myself by creating a blog. I wrote about investments, promoted products, and included my contact information—just for fun and hone my skills.
SEO Jackpot
Interestingly, this led to a jackpot. A staff member at the Indonesian Embassy in Moscow found my blog and contacted me📞. He eventually became a serious customer of mine. Plus a local media quoted my investment blog and got even more traffic and calls! This unexpected web-success made me realize the potential of the digital power.
From 2009 onward, I took on a much more serious learning to deepen my knowledge of website building, SEO, and eventually AI, while simultaneously starting my career in the capital market.

Hobby Became Real Projects
In 2009, I launched a personal blog about Christian marriage, which I maintained for 10 years until 2019. This project helped me develop my digital skills and attracted a significant audience.
In 2017 (right after my big turnaround moment in late 2016), we launched Kuis Alkitab (KA) — a bigger project that’s built on my decade plus of experience in website building, no-code and SEO. We later incorporated natural language processing (NLP) to improve our writing and implemented various No-Code solutions for creating crosswords, web layouts, forms, surveys, and newsletter systems.
In 2021, we began exploring AI, and when ChatGPT arrived in 2022, the field of generative AI exploded. Thanks to our previous experience, we were plug-and-play to embrace these developments.
In 2021, our website reached a milestone with 1.2 million page views. We also created social media platforms and a Youtube channel to deliver modern Bible learning materials to a wider audience of Bible reader all over Indonesia.
Thanks to the expertise from God in No-code, AI and SEO, as of September 2025 our digital platforms have already reached some key milestones:
- Over 28,000 followers on Instagram
- Over 18,000 subscribers on Youtube
- Over 8,000 followers on Tiktok
- Over 5 million page views on our website since 2017
